Christine Koh is a Boston lifer- a music and brain scientist turned writer, editor, designer, consultant, and impassioned conversationalist. She spent a decade in academia- during which time she was awarded prestigious fellowships from the National Institutes of Health to fund her Ph.D. research at Queen's University and joint-appointment postdoctoral fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard Medical School/Massachusetts Institutes of Technology. She was about to become a professor when she decided to hang up her academic spurs in favor of more flexible and independent ventures. Christine is the founder and editor of Boston Mamas, a lifestyle portal for families in Boston and beyond, and created the graphic design firm Posh Peacock. Christine also is partner and digital strategist at Women Online (and is a co-founder of sister brands The Mission List and Pivot Boston), a freelance writer and editor, writes the column Minimalist Mama, and pens a personal blogPop Discourse where she gives voice to her fascination with pop culture, the intellectually interesting or absurd, Boston life, and parenthood. Christine has been featured in Boston Magazine, The Boston Globe, Woman's Day, Parents Magazine, National Public Radio, ABC News, Metro Boston, FOX 25 Boston, and other media outlets...

        Sommaire:
As part of their everyday work bricklayers must be able to interpret technical documents, understand the properties of various mortars/building materials, and understand the basics of health and safety on site. Brickwork Level 3 has been adapted from John Hodge's classic Brickwork for Apprentices - the established textbook on brickwork for generations of bricklayers. Now in full colour, this new book has been tailored to match Level 3 of both the Construction Alliance Awards Diplomas in Bricklaying and the Trowel Occupations NVQs. Written by Malcolm Thorpe, who acted as a CITB adviser and was involved in the draughting of the Intermediate Construction Award syllabus (bricklaying route), Brickwork Level 3 matches the latest industry-based requirements and technical developments in the field, including recent changes to the Building Regulations. This text will remain an essential reference for qualified bricklayers and other professionals working in the construction industry, as well as NVQ students wishing to embark on a career in bricklaying....
