      Biographie:
Harriette Newell Woods Baker, born on August 19, 1815, in Andover, Massachusetts, was an American author and editor best known for her books for children. She wrote under the pen names Mrs. Madeline Leslie and Aunt Hattie, gaining popularity for her works that often carried moral and educational themes for young readers. She began her writing career around the age of 30, initially focusing on novels before transitioning to religious literature about 15 years later. Harriette was married to A.R. Baker and spent much of her life in New York, where she passed away on April 26, 1893, at the age of 77. Throughout her career, she successfully balanced her writing with editing, contributing to both literature and religious publications. Harriette was the daughter of Leonard Woods, whose influence likely shaped her moral perspective and writing style. Her works continue to be appreciated for their ability to engage and educate young minds, reflecting her dedication to both literature and moral teachings....

      Sommaire:
A gentle tale of loyalty and kindness, Minnie'S Pet Dog by Madeline Leslie invites young readers into the heartwarming friendship between a girl and her devoted canine companion. Set against the backdrop of 19th century America, this classic of Victorian era childrens literature weaves together the joys of animal companionship with the timeless values of compassion, responsibility, and faith. Every page offers a tender lesson in pet care and kindness to animals, making it a cherished read aloud bedtime story and a thoughtful addition to any homeschool literature study. As a christian moral tale, Minnie'S Pet Dog stands among the beloved sunday school storybooks that shaped generations, gently guiding children towards empathy and good character. Leslie's storytelling captures both the innocence of childhood and the deeper bonds we share with our pets, making this unabridged public domain edition as relevant and moving today as when it first delighted young readers. The story's enduring appeal lies in its ability to nurture a love for animals while imparting gentle wisdom - ideal for families seeking wholesome childrens animal fiction that resonates across ages. Republished by Alpha Editions in a careful modern edition, this volume preserves the spirit of the original while making it effortless to enjoy today - a heritage title prepared for readers and collectors alike. More than a simple reprint, it is a cultural treasure, lovingly restored for today's and future generations. Whether for a child's first encounter with classic literature or as a collector's piece, Minnie'S Pet Dog remains a testament to the lasting power of kindness, faith, and the special place pets hold in our hearts....
