Being a new student at school can be a big deal even when you are in kindergarten. It's Cassidy's first day at a new school and she is a little nervous. Will she be able to keep up with her classmates or will her learning disability get in her way? Follow her first few days as she finds her confidence and voice in kindergarten. Cassidy's story is meant to inspire children to embrace being different....
Biographie:
At the age of 22, Dezi Shepperd worked as a secretary for the New York City Department of Education District 75/Special Education. While an employee it was suggested she get tested for a learning disability. It was then she learned she had learning disability called Dyscalculia and ADHD.
The Diagnosis changed her academic career and gave her the confidence to re-enroll into college and eventually graduate with her BA Psychology. Her experience having a learning disability inspired her to write Cassidy and the Mixed Up Numbers. She hopes to bring awareness to unseen learning disabilities such as Dyscalculia....
