Présentation Maddy's Phoenix de Yager Delagrange, Patricia Format Broché
- Livre Littérature Générale
Résumé :
A secret she can't outrun... a love she never expected. Maddy McCray has buried more loss than any twenty-two-year-old should carry-including babies of her own she never got to bring home. When she finds an abandoned infant behind the diner where she works, she doesn't call the police. She calls her a daughter. With her surrogate mother, Cheryl, at her side, Maddy leaves the only town she's ever known for a fresh start in Oakland, determined to become the nurse-and the mother-she's always dreamed of being. What she doesn't expect is Dr. Bryce Russell: brilliant, wealthy, and utterly out of her league, the professor who looks at her like she's the only woman in the room. Falling for Bryce means risking the one thing she can't survive losing: the truth about where her daughter really came from. As her new life builds around her-nursing school, a found family, a love she never thought she deserved-that truth waits in the wings to take it all away. Sometimes the family you build out of nothing is the one worth fighting hardest to keep....
Biographie:
The most important part of my life has always been my family, both the one I was born into and the one formed by my marriage. My father was an Oakland firefighter for thirty-five years while my mother stayed home to care for their six daughters. With five sisters, it was quite the challenge getting six strong women in one household to agree about almost anything. Therefore, it should be no surprise that the theme of all my novels is relationships. I weave tales of men and women and their loved ones, sprinkling my books with intriguing characters who struggle to find balance in life. Whether an unwed teenager, desperate widow, abandoned father, disconnected sisters, or a troubled couple, my characters form relationships impacted by their desire to create a cohesive family.I live with my husband on the picturesque, man-made island of Alameda, across the bay from San Francisco. We have two kids, a son at home and our daughter in the state of Washington. Our two chocolate labs-UJE and Remy-provide endless entertainment. When I'm not writing, you'll find me on the back of my black-and-white Gypsy Vanner horse, Zemra, in the hills of Oakland....
