      • Résumé :
Some fences take a family to mend... and a love to hold it together. When Patti Michaels buries her mother, she doesn't expect the rest of her family to fall apart right along with her grief. An absent father, a sister who's never forgiven him, another who'd sell them all out for an inheritance-home was never simple, and now it's worse. What is simple is Robert Blakely: the steady, irresistibly direct man who walks into her life at exactly the moment she needs someone to believe in. Their connection is immediate, real, and everything Patti didn't know she was looking for. But before she can fully step into that future, the past catches up with her in the worst way-a betrayal so devastating it threatens to take her down for good. Patti doesn't break. She fights back, on her own terms, and refuses to let one terrible night define the rest of her life. What she finds on the other side is more than she ever expected: a baby to love unconditionally, a man who loves them both without hesitation, and sisters who-however imperfectly-are finally choosing each other. Some fences take an entire family to mend. This one's worth every bit of the work....

        Biographie:
The most important part of my life has always been my family, both the one I was born into and the one formed by my marriage. My father was an Oakland firefighter for thirty-five years while my mother stayed home to care for their six daughters. With five sisters, it was quite the challenge getting six strong women in one household to agree about almost anything. Therefore, it should be no surprise that the theme of all my novels is relationships. I weave tales of men and women and their loved ones, sprinkling my books with intriguing characters who struggle to find balance in life. Whether an unwed teenager, desperate widow, abandoned father, disconnected sisters, or a troubled couple, my characters form relationships impacted by their desire to create a cohesive family.I live with my husband on the picturesque, man-made island of Alameda, across the bay from San Francisco. We have two kids, a son at home and our daughter in the state of Washington. Our two chocolate labs-UJE and Remy-provide endless entertainment. When I'm not writing, you'll find me on the back of my black-and-white Gypsy Vanner horse, Zemra, in the hills of Oakland....
