First, construct positive affirmation. Determine a couple of sentences that reflect the way that you want to see yourself as a positive, optimistic person, such as I am a worthwhile human being.
Then, make a list of your good qualities. Take the time to remind yourself what an awesome person you are. List out the things that you like about yourself. Often, this can feel very difficult, but force yourself. This list of positivity will help you change your thoughts and feelings to support your process of self-development.
