Résumé :
This is a collection of my 96 poems composed between 1982 to 2020. At the start I was living at home with my parents and my main influences were classical poetry and Nature but as I moved on the subjects became more political and radical to reflect a growing self-awareness. In mid-1985 I moved to London to pursue a training in theatre and acting and though I continued to compose poems, I did not do so with as much energy as in those early days, being more abstract and reflective and less direct. Some have been published in magazines and reviews, some performed in the oral tradition in live performance and others put to music and adapted as songs. I write poems very slowly, only about one a year - if that! I like to take time and compose poems I genuinely believe in. I also favour full rhymes rather than half-rhymes and am a big fan of the standard pop song' -type poem with an A,B,C,B rhyming scheme, though not always.
