Afredo E. Phipps, Jr. was born in Saman?, Dominican Republic. Since he was very young he liked to write stories created from his imagination. In 1994, he immigrated to the United States with other members of his family. In 2007, he worked at the International Monetary Fund as an Information Technology Administrator. In 2015, he graduated from Liberty University. For many years he was afraid of the unknown, missing out on great opportunities in his life. From this experience was emerged the story Challenging the Unknown.

Life is hard. Sometimes it gives us an unfair hand and leaves us wondering what happened as we try to pick up the pieces of our broken dreams. Experiences like these can make us feel lost and scared and cause us to put up walls around us to protect ourselves, refusing to leave the safety of our comfort zone. Challenging the Unknown by Alfredo E. Phipps, Jr. addresses what it feels like when our world falls apart around us and how we can move forward with confidence and purpose. The story follows several characters whose lives intersect when they are invited to attend an event led by a teacher that will change the direction of their lives forever.
