On October 3, 1996, La'Shea Cretain was shot five times by her ex-boyfriend. Then he turned the gun around, shooting and killing himself. La'Shea was only 18-years old at the time, with two young children. La'Shea's injuries were so severe that responding officers listed La'Shea as a 'victim'. But La'Shea was still very much alive. Lashea Cretain is a mother, faith counselor, activist and a popular motivational speaker. She has spoken at events for Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America, The Brady Campaign, and Women's Day. Her uplifting and empowering message of turning adversity into your own inner-strength has inspired everyone who has ever heard her speak. Now, she is sharing her story with the world.
