As I have entered in to the fifth decade of my medical profession, phenomenal changes have happened in the way we practice medicine, with the invasion of technology, corporate business, marketing, legalities etc. But certain facts are disturbing. The poor cannot afford it and the rich are inviting diseases of greed and accumulation, the middle class are getting the double whammy of losing money and health in trying to ape the rich. Medical profession has become disease-centric, technology dependent and Buyer-seller relationships. Certain fundamental questions need answers. Has the individual's health and happiness improved? Who should take care of health? What is the role of health in our quest for wealth & careers ? Have we forgotten what is life? Why does one get diseases? Is health just conquering diseases or chasing medical parameters? What is health and what are the parameters of health? Which system and which doctor or hospital to consult? I have written this book to help the hapless individuals to wade through this maze of confusions, in simple, practical and 'Do It Yourself' way. If those who read, practice and propagate this knowledge get benefited, the purpose of this book is served.

Biographie:
Mysore Ramakrishna Rajasekhar, a practicing surgeon and proctologist.In the 46 years that I have spent in the medical field, I have witnessed the paradigm shift that has taken place in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases. The sophistication, accuracy, safety in the practice of modern medicine today is phenomenal. However, with the foray of all branches of sciences, media, legalities, and commerce into the medical practice, we lost the plot. We were led to believe that technology is the only solution and suffice to be legally correct. Our end goal was to banish diseases while our means were science and numbers. We forgot that the pivotal point of all our efforts was to maintain the health of fellow human beings. We became focused on statistics and publications. This became the evidence that we held on to, as gospel truth, without giving much thought to its insufficiency or negative effect. That's why I decided to write this book. My main goal here is to promote individual health consciousness so that they are able to prevent lifestyle diseases.
