Résumé :
In the questioning spirit of Socrates, Dr Parkinson argues that Christianity must be true to its basic principles of truth seeking. He traces the evolution of Christian thought and belief from its earliest foundations to the present day and proposes its future evolution in the light of new scientific understanding, in particular recent discoveries in Cosmology. He addresses the question that as we are built in the image of God, how can we become closer to God and more specifically, acquire the mind of God, who made us in his own image; thus breaking new ground in the field of anthropology.
Biographie:
Frank Parkinson began his career as a student engineer with the Bristol Aircraft Co. (now BAE) but went into education. He studied at the universities of British Columbia, Geneva and Lancaster, where he gained a PhD in psycholinguistics. He has lectured in logic and communication at universities in North and South America, Europe and the UK. Since retirement he has written on socio-philosophical and scientific matters. His published work includes Jehovah and Hyperspace (New European Publications, 2002) and Science and Religion at the Crossroads, Imprint Academic, 2009). More recently he published Songs of a Seeker, a collection of spiritually uplifting poems inspired by his personal quest for spiritual truth (Omega Point Press, 2017).His last book, Beyond Christianity, was published posthumously in 2020 by family and friends who have continued to keep his legacy alive through Omega Point Press, the publishing company he set up to promote his ideas.
