Résumé :
In the wake of World War II, Rolf Krieger arrives in Australia, seeking a fresh start and a chance to escape the shadows of his past. But as he adopts a new identity to avoid prejudice, he finds that the scars of war run deeper than he imagined. Elaine Forman is struggling to rebuild her life after losing her husband to a sniper's bullet, raising their children alone in a world forever changed by conflict. When she crosses paths with Rolf, an unexpected connection ignites-a spark of hope amid the ashes of their shared trauma. But as Rolf's past collides with his present, including the shocking truth about his connection to Elaine's brother Bill, he must confront the demons that threaten to tear them apart. In a journey of resilience, love, and redemption, Rolf and Elaine discover that true strength lies in facing their darkest fears together.Refugee is a gripping tale of survival, sacrifice, and the unyielding human spirit in the face of adversity....
