Résumé :
Various aspects of solar passive building have been presented in this book. Different types of solar passive technologies have been discussed. The basic concepts of designing and performance evaluation of a solar passive building have been described in detail. A case study shows that the high cost central electric/gas/wood-fired heating systems can be replaced by a low cost solar heating system with backup heaters. This will result not only in reducing higher installation costs of these systems but also the annual running and maintenance costs. The solar passive features saves electricity required for space heating and reduces the heat losses in the building by about 35%. The use of solar passive technology will reduce greenhouse gases and thereby reduce global warming...
Biographie:
Dr R K Aggarwal did his M.Phil in Physics with specialization in nuclear physics and Ph.D. in Physics with specialization in renewable energy. Presently, working as Assistant Professor in the University, teaching physics, meteorology and renewable energy. He has developed high altitude metal cookstoves and indirect solar drier....
