Résumé :
This book explores the status and policy implications of science and technology indicators among countries on the periphery of global scientific development. The main focus of the analysis is on the Pacific Island States. Some comparisons are made with Nepal, Mozambique, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Jamaica. It is argued that for these countries, some different indicators should be included among the standard S&T indicators used among industrially developed economies.

Tim Turpin es profesor adjunto en la Escuela de Negocios de la Universidad de Western Sydney (Australia). Es soci?logo y especialista en pol?tica cient?fica, tecnol?gica y de innovaci?n. Ranasinghe Amaradasa es Decano de la Escuela de Negocios y Econom?a de la Universidad de Fiyi (Fiyi). Es especialista en an?lisis de pol?ticas cient?ficas y tecnol?gicas.
