Everyone has a dark side that they work to keep hidden from their friends and families?and even from themselves. For most people, that secret shadow is no more than a collection of greedy or envious thoughts, prejudices they can never admit to, or a temperament that is not quite as mild-mannered and understanding as they wish it were. For others, that darkness hides deep-seated rage, violence, and perversions held under constant and strenuous restraint. No one knows this better than Police Inspector J. Erasmus. He moved to town to escape his own dark past and find a fresh start in life. Little did he know that things were about to get far worse than he had ever imagined. Tasked with solving a series of bizarre and brutal crimes, he finds himself starting to question everything he knows about human nature, justice, and even reality, as the darker side of human nature gives way to something far more terrifying.

Biographie:
Currently living in Saskatoon with her husband, Jacek, her best friend and biggest supporter, Magdalena Steplewski has a BFA degree from the University of Regina, studied art at the University of Pretoria, and studied Architectural Design and the History of Architecture at Gdansk Technical University. Even so, she refuses to grow up, embracing her inner-child and enjoying children's stories and movies, as well as a nice cup of cocoa on long winter nights. Steplewski has written many stories for her daughter, who loved being read to, especially when she was sick in the hospital.
