Résumé :
Architecture & Micropolitics proposes a novel and egalitarian approach to architectural practice. Using four buildings designed by FMA, her London-based practice, architect Farshid Moussavi shows how micropolitics can provide an alternative to passive compliance with the rigid frameworks imposed by functional requirements, conventions and regulations. By combining a rhizomatic design process with an openness to elements of chance, architects can bend the rules so that the users' experience of a building involves the perception of a multiplicity of affects. This process ensures that the relationship between architect and building users remains open-ended. In arguing for the political role of affects in archtecture, this book has evolved from Farshid Moussavi's longstanding research which began with her influential series of books published in conjunction with Harvard University The Function of Ornament (2006), The Function of Form (2009) and The Function of Style (2014). Architecture & Micropolitics opens with a substantial essay by Moussavi and an afterword by the French philosopher Jacques Rancière, followed by detailed analyses of the Museum of Contemporary Art in Cleveland . Biographie:
Farshid Moussavi, geboren 1965 in Shiraz, Iran, war nach ihrer Ausbildung an der University of Dundee, der Bartlett School of Architecture in London und der Harvard Graduate School of Design 1993 Mitgr?nderin des B?ros Foreign Office Architects (FOA). Seit 2011 f?hrt sie in London das B?ro Farshid Moussavi Architecture (FMA). Seit 2005 lehrt und forscht sie als Professorin an der Harvard Graduate School of Design und hat dort die einflussreichen B?cher ?The Function of Ornament? (2008), ?The Function of Form? (2009) und ?The Function of Style? (2015) ver?ffentlicht. Jacques Ranci?re ist ein franz?sischer Philosoph, der vor allem f?r seine Arbeiten zur politischen Philosophie und zur ?sthetik bekannt wurde. Er ist Professor f?r Philosophie an der European Graduate School in Saas-Fee, davor lehrte er an der Universit? de Paris VIII, Vincennes-Saint Denis.
