Résumé :
The Community Pharmacy: Basic Principles & Concepts may suggest new ideas and thoughts to a pharmacist to help him/her in redefining the role of Community Pharmacist in the changing global scenario particularly with reference to a developing country like India. This book may serve as text book of pharmacy students of various universities as the selected topic forms an important part of the curricula of their courses. It also suits to and caters the needs of medico legal professionals. The book provides an explicit and elaborated introduction to the fundamental principles of community pharmacy and hence helps in understanding the concepts involved in a better and effective way. Salient Features • Every unit has been subdivided into various sections and subsections • Particular emphasis has been laid done in explaining the terms and topics in a simple and scientific language easily understandable by students • Provision of illustrations, figures and tables wherever necessary • Use of standard and scientific terminology • The manuscript includes detailed discussion on various recent topics of significance such as pharmacoepidemology, pharmacoeconomics, OTC medications, health screening services and rational drug therapy.
Biographie:
Kamal Dua, M. Pharm., PhD. in Pharmaceutics having 7 years of experience in both teaching and Industry. At the post graduate level, he received Sri. K. Sri Harsha Memorial Gold Medal for obtaining 1st rank. There are more than 50 research/ review articles in the international and national journals of repute to his credit. He is also having more than 40 presentations in various international and national conferences. His doctoral work is aimed at the improvement of physicochemical parameters particularly solubility characteristics of some poorly water soluble drugs and transdermal drug delivery. Apart from this he is also actively engaged in guiding pharmacy projects at U.G. Level. He has research interest in the field of solubility enhancement and topical drug delivery systems. He is the life member of various professional bodies.
