Présentation Suki Seal And The Plastic Ring Format Broché
- Livre Album jeunesse
Résumé :
Suki, a young seal thinks it's her lucky day when she stumbles across a plastic ring left on the beach... What begins as a game, turns out to be anything but, when the ring attaches itself around her neck. Join Suki and her friend Billy in their struggle after finding plastic waste on the beach! Suki's best friend, Billy does everything he can to try to remove the ring but it just won't budge. Will Suki survive as the ring grows ever tighter around her neck? From the author of Danny the Caterpillar and other children's picture books, this book carries a simple message: 'Take your rubbish home.' The story not only highlights plastic pollution as a problem, but also contains a message that teaches children how we can help prevent plastic pollution in the oceans. With the world drowning in plastic, it carries a clear message about the damage and suffering one simple plastic ring can do to our wonderful marine life. This brilliant picture book, illustrated by Angela Simonovska, is perfect for readers aged 3-6 who love nature and want to help the environment. It also highlights the incredible work carried out by seal sanctuaries around the United Kingdom.
Biographie:
Dawn Brookes is the author of Rachel Prince mystery series combining a unique blend of murder, cruising and medicine with a touch of romance. British author Ms Brookes has a 39 year nursing pedigree and takes regular cruise holidays for research purposes! She brings these passions along with a Christian background and a love of clean crime to her writing. The surname of her protagonist is in honour of her childhood dog, 'Prince', who used to put his head on her knee while she lost herself in books. Bestselling author of Hurry up Nurse: memoirs of nurse training in the 1970s and Hurry up Nurse 2: London calling, Dawn worked as a hospital nurse, midwife, district nurse and community matron across a thirty-nine year year career. Before turning her hand to writing for a living, she had multiple articles published in professional journals and co-edited a nurse textbook. She grew up in Leicester, later moved to London and Berkshire but now lives in Derbyshire. Dawn holds a bachelors degree with Honours and a Masters degree in education. Writing across genres, Dawn also writes for children. Dawn has a passion for nature and loves animals, especially dogs. Animals will continue to feature in her children's books as she believes caring for animals and nature helps children to become kinder human beings.
Sommaire:
Dawn Brookes is an award-winning and occasional international bestselling author with an MA in Creative Writing. From an early age, she enjoyed losing herself in stories. After a four-decade career in nursing and midwifery, Dawn turned her hand to writing. With over twenty-three novels and more to follow, Dawn loves writing the stories she would enjoy reading. Her keen sense of humour comes out in her writing. My years as a nurse, midwife, and community matron have given me a wealth of experiences to draw from, Dawn explains. I've seen firsthand how medical situations can quickly turn complex and even dangerous. I believe this knowledge adds an extra layer of authenticity to my mysteries.Dawn's passion lies in character-driven books, films and TV programmes. In her spare time, she enjoys playing golf, watching tennis, reading, travel (especially cruising), and adopting the occasional rescue dog. I believe there are no limits to what a person can achieve if they set their mind to it, no matter what background we are born into, we should not be restrained by boundaries. Check out her website for a free prequel novella to the Lady Marjorie Mystery series....
