Indonesia is a land of incomparable beauty and diversity. It was also the biological laboratory of Alfred Russel Wallace, who, working independently of his contemporary Charles Darwin, developed the theory of evolution by natural selection. Biographie:
Gavan Daws is a historian and the author of nine books about the Pacific and Asia, including The Nature Conservancy's highly successful Hawaii: The Islands of Life. Marty Fujita, a Research Associate of the Smithsonian Institution and founding director of The Nature Conservancy's Indonesia Program, lived and worked in Indonesia for over seven years.
