Résumé :
Image Cytometry is an introductory practical manual covering ail aspects of quantitative imaging of cells and tissues. The book provides a clear understanding of the instrumentation and the principles of cytological and histological measurements and how these can be applied to the analysis of a range of sample types. Emphasis is placed on valid measurements and avoiding potential pitfalls.
Covering the use of calibration and set-up, morphometry, transmitted and emitted light photometry, Image Cytometry is a detailed practical guide for the novice, and a valuable reference for more experienced researchers in all areas of biological science.
Biographie:
Dr Pasquale Chieco is the head of the Research and Clinical Laboratories, Institute of Oncology, Bologna, Italy. An author of over 90 research publications and several books, he is the President of the Italian Society of Cytology.
Professor C.J.F Van Noorden is head of the Department of Cell Biology and Histology at the Academic Medical Centre, University of Amsterdam. His major research interest is invasion and metastasis of cancer and, in particular, proteolysis involved in these and related processes.
Dr Ard Jonker is a lecturer in the Department of Cell Biology and Histology at the Academic Medical Centre, University of Amsterdam. His research interest is visualization of biological structures in 3D and 4D by image analysis and processing and virtual reality.
