Résumé :
What is the Alternate Version? In the ongoing dialogue with calculus instructors, the authors of CALCULUS, Second Edition by Hughes-Hallett, Gleason, et al. found that the regular edition of their text is used in a variety of ways. In order to accommodate these different approaches and needs, they have developed this Alternate Version with the following changes. A quick concise review of precalculus material Chapter 1 has been shortened by more than 40 pages to serve students with a strong precalculus background. Differentiation and integration are treated separately Chapter 3 KEY CONCEPT: THE DEFINITE INTEGRAL in the regular version has been delayed until after all the chapters on derivatives are covered so that differentiation and integration can be treated separately. New Computer Algebra Problems Interesting and relevant CAS problems have been added at the end of each chapter in sections called Projects and Computer Algebra Investigations... Ready Reference Section Major theorems, definitions and ideas have been outlined in the back of the text to serve as a reference for students while in their calculus course and in courses that follow.
Sommaire:
