Pollution is a threat to humans. It has noxious effects for the organisms in the ecosystems. Pollutants endanger public health or welfare. They can affect all environmental media, and are composed of a diverse mix of substances coming from a great variety of sources. Different goals for reducing worldwide expansions of pollutants have been suggested fundamentally in the most industrialized countries. Hazardous wastes, acid precipitation, atmospheric ozone depletion, emissions and air pollution are nowadays the great menaces, but neither pollution nor efforts to control it are recent questions. For this reason, prevention measures and laws were arising along the years. Governments all over the world have cooperatively taking action to stop the pollution. However, the techniques and the costs of removing pollution vary from case to case. Air movements and water flow carry pollutants far from their original sources. As a consequence the pollution problems have negative worldwide economic, environmental and social impacts.
