A. H. Benjamin was born in Algeria, where he studied Physics and Chemistry. He has been writing children's books since the mid-1980's. He lives in Lincolnshire, UK with his wife, Trisha. They have four grown children and four young grandchildren who have all been an inspiration to him.

Jane Chapman has been writing and illustrating for over twenty years and has produced many bestselling and award-winning titles. She lives in Dorset, England, with her husband, illustrator Tim Warnes. They have two sons.
