Shalin Hai-Jew has been working as an instructional designer at Kansas State University since 2006, and she has worked on a number of projects, including those related to biosecurity, turf grass management, grain science, game design, one health, public health, PTSD, mental health, social justice, and other federally funded projects. People today find it meaningful to give back by sharing their work in an open way as a social value. This book topic has relevance for those who design online learning for a larger public than a limited target learner audience. The open-sharing and the open-access and the open-source aspects all have implications on instructional design, especially given the global learning environment and the implications of massness.
