Présentation Rabette Run de Rippington, Nick Format Broché
- Livre Littérature Générale
Résumé :
Emerson Rabette sets off on a mission to save his job and ends up on the run with a beautiful woman. If that sounds unlikely, you don't know Emerson. He is no ordinary commuter and this is no ordinary journey. To get to work on time, the middle-aged graphic designer must not only overcome his paralysing fear of the London Underground, but also quieten the raging voices inside his head. And it's only when the enigmatic Winter arrives on the scene that Emerson is able to subdue his demons and board the train. But who is this mysterious young lady and why is she so fascinated with a married man twice her age? And why do Emerson's fellow travellers seem to be paying him so much attention? Before he can come up with answers, a handwritten message scrawled on the carriage wall sends Emerson into meltdown. Soon he and Winter are running for their lives, consumed by a mystery that will leave him to question everything he thinks he knows about his family, friends and the world in which he lives. What the critics say... 'The perfect escapist read for our times' 'The sort of book you 'watch' while reading... utterly brilliant' 'Alice in Wonderland... with tanks and guns'...
Sommaire:
IndieBRAG honouree Nick Rippington has been regularly scooping awards with his gritty UK crime tales. His latest book Spark Out - the second in the Boxer Boys series - has received a prestigious IndieBRAG medallion. One of the website's readers said it was 'Dirty, visceral, occasionally violent and yet engaging and strangely compelling. The author has a great street voice'. The book was also awarded the Cover of The Year 2017 title by the Chill With A Book website. Its readers also gave it an award, describing it as a great read, compelling and a real page turner. Spark Out is the prequel to Nick's debut novel Crossing The Whitewash, which he wrote in response to becoming a silent victim of the News of the World phone-hacking scandal. As the paper's Welsh Sports Editor he was informed at 48-hours notice that it was closing, and had to collect the contents of his desk from a colleague in a Wapping car park. The novel received an honourable mention in the prestigious American magazine Writers' Digest's 2016 eBook Awards with judges describing it as evocative, unique, unfailingly precise and often humorous. Nick lives with his family in London....
