It is structured to cover the principles and practices as recommended in BIS:SP 46:2003 Salient Features • BIS standards are followed throughout the book in first angle projection as recommended and uniform aligned system of dimensioning. • Covers all units systematically and step by step with numerous examples worked out in stages. This enables the student and staff to understand the subject with ease and enthusiasm by self study. • Students invariably find it difficult to follow the chapters on projection of points and lines especially line inclined to both the planes. Special care is taken to explain this in 4 stages of drawing for easy understanding. • All other chapters are also enlarged with more worked examples. • Chapter on AutoCAD is revised to cover more details in making the drawing through AutoCAD.

Prof. K. Venkata Reddy is presently Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering in Yogananda Institute of Technology & Science, Tirupathi. He has vast experience as Workshop Superintendent in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Sri Venkateswara University College of Engineering, Tirupathi. He received his B. E (Mech) degree from Dr. Algappa Chettiar College of Engineering and Technology, Karaikudi (Tamilnadu) and M. E. Degree from Regional Engineering College, Tiruchi. He served in PSG Industrial Institute, Coimbatore and Regional Engineering College, Tiruchi. He is also co-author of Textbooks on Engineering Graphics, Machine Drawing and Production Drawing for Degree and Diploma Courses. He has 37 years of teaching and industrial experience.
