Résumé :
At the end of Tarzan the Untamed, Lieutenant Obergatz fled in terror from Tarzan of the Apes. Tarzan has learned that Obergatz might hold his Jane captive. She might not be Dead! Now, to find that which is most important to him, Tarzan must follow a cold trail across seemingly impassable marshes into Pal ul don- a savage land where primitive Waz don and Ho don fight fiercely, wielding knives with their long, prehensile tails...
Biographie:
Edgar Rice Burroughs (1875-1950) was an American novelist best known for creating some of the most enduring adventure heroes of the twentieth century. He achieved immediate success with Tarzan of the Apes (1912), introducing the jungle-born Tarzan, and soon afterward launched the Barsoom series beginning with A Princess of Mars, establishing a model for planetary romance and interplanetary adventure.Burroughs' fiction is marked by sweeping imagination, exotic settings, and fast-moving narrative momentum. His tales of lost civilizations, distant worlds, and heroic survival captured the spirit of early pulp fiction and helped shape the development of modern adventure and science fiction genres.Over the course of his career, Burroughs wrote dozens of novels across multiple series, many of which were adapted into films, comics, and radio programs. His influence remains visible in popular culture, particularly in adventure fantasy and space opera traditions that continue to draw upon the archetypes he helped define....
Sommaire:
Believing Jane may still live, Tarzan plunges into the forbidden land of Pal-ul-don in one of the most savage and fantastical adventures of the entire saga. In the aftermath of Tarzan the Untamed, Lieutenant Obergatz has fled in terror-but he may carry the secret of Jane's fate. Refusing to accept her death, Tarzan of the Apes follows the faintest trace of hope across treacherous swamps and into a realm cut off from the known world. Beyond the marshes lies Pal-ul-don, a brutal and primitive land where rival tribes-the Waz-don and Ho-don-wage relentless war. Here men wield knives with long, prehensile tails, and ancient beasts still roam the jungles. Mighty triceratops thunder across the plains, remnants of a forgotten age. In this savage lost world, strength alone is not enough. Tarzan must navigate tribal conflict, deadly terrain, and prehistoric terror if he is to rescue the woman he loves. Blending lost-world fantasy, primal survival, and relentless action, Tarzan the Terrible stands among Edgar Rice Burroughs' most imaginative jungle epics.
