I shut the door to my room, exhale and return to my laptop. The cursor on the screen finds its way to the new mail icon and the mouse clicks a window open. As expected, the mail is from the French guys. I read it out loud to myself and chuckle. These guys are hilarious! I can not wait to meet them. I will include that information in my reply; The final contact before we will meet in Kathmandu. As I press the send-button, an intense rush of nervousness runs through my stomach. I can't believe that I am actually leaving for Nepal tomorrow!
My mother calls for me from downstairs, and as usual, I move to the door.
What, mom?! I yell as I open it hard.
I have to leave for a meeting! she shouts. Dad will be home late as well! There's food in the fridge! See you!
I shut the door and return, yet again, to my laptop. This time, the cursor moves to the browser, in which I type 'Nepal'. The thought of being there feels surreal. The place looks so fantastic in these photos.
I turn around on my chair and study my fully packed backpack, while a smile appears on my face. A smile that might make me look like a goat, but who cares.

Ambling down the streets of Reykjavik, I absorb every single ray of the rare sunlight hitting my face. The news from last week doesn't matter that much to me right now. I feel spontaneous. I feel like doing something new. The mountains on the horizon catch my attention. It's strange how I thought that I was used to seeing them, but right now, they look astonishing like nothing else in the world. Nothing can beat my mood now!
I thought... A severe pain in my shoulder hits me. Well, there goes my happy mood.
A bench saves me, as I sit down and manage to relax a bit. As I have loved doing all of my life, I sit for a while, just watching people walking by; Some look handsome, some look weird, and some are just... originals.
The mountains on the horizon catch my attention again. I think I saw a flash up there, but I might be wrong. In any case, an idea popped into my head. I can't stay here in Iceland any longer. I have to adventure again, before it's too late. I know exactly where to go!
