Urbanization in developing countries is not a direct 'growth stimulus' per se, however, its linkages with various social phenomena such as education and occupation set the trajectory for a multi-dimensional development. Urbanization, education, and occupation influence one another to such an extent that sometimes it becomes pretty difficult to ascertain which is being influenced by which. Urbanization creates opportunities for various occupations but at the same time many occupations have direct bearing on urbanization. In developing nations higher education is basically concentrated in towns, cities and metros as they cater well to the whole spectrum of the needs of higher education. A highly educated person migrates to an urban area to get an occupation which is compatible with his/her degree and aspires to grab the goodies of this globalized era. Thus, urbanization, higher education and professional occupations get linked to one another yet their relationship continues to be a riddle to be solved. This book deciphers this inextricable link they share with one another and thus helps the research scholars to unravel the discrimination and exclusion induced through their interplay....
