Biographie:
Mihirkanti Choudhury (53) emerged as a potential writer on Tagore with visions of variety. He did his Honours in Economics from Gauhati University (India) in 1979 but he concentrated on literature with profound eagerness. He runs an institution to teach English language and literature at mid-level. He has two other titles to his credit....
Sommaire:
Rabindranath Tagore's contribution to different genres of literature with equal efficiency was a wonder. Attempting any one of the genres could have been enough for his establishment as a literary figure in the world platform. His thoughts on village development and rural reconstruction, education and environment have also drawn widespread attention throughout the world. His concentration on painting in the concluding stage of his life was another extra-ordinary effort on his part. The cultural and the literary infrastructure that was available in the family background favoured him in an unbelievable way. Many of the members of the Tagore family, both male and female had international reputation in literary and cultural areas of interest even before Tagore came to the limelight. They were no less luminous. Unfortunately, this area of significance has not yet been addressed in an organised way. This particular book gives a vivid picture of Tagore's family and the literary and cultural infrastructure on which he worked and expanded his areas of creativity. It will help the readers, particularly the beginners to have a resolute focus on Tagore's family background....
