Biographie:
Writing and reading are two of Maryann Miller's great passions in life, and her writing career has spanned a number of years and a number of publishing outlets. She started as a humor columnist for a Dallas suburban newspaper and was known as the Erma Bombeck of Plano. From that humble beginning, she went on to publish short fiction and feature articles in regional and national magazines and newspapers before having books published. Miller has received the Page Edwards Short Story Award, the New York Library Best Books for Teens Award, first place in the screenwriting competition at the Houston Writer's Conference, placing as a semi-finalist at Sundance, and placing as a semi-finalist in the Chesterfield Screenwriting Competition. She is the theatre director at the Winnsboro Center for the Arts, where she directs adult and youth productions and coordinates the annual Kidzz on Stage Youth Drama Camp. She also likes to play onstage and has appeared in numerous productions, most recently in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof. Miller lives on five acres in the beautiful Piney Woods of East Texas where she enjoys playing farmer on Grandma's Ranch.
