Robert Louis Stevenson (1850-1894) was a Scottish novelist, poet, dramatist, essayist, and travel writer best known for his 1886 novella Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde. Inspired by a dream, Stevenson wrote the story of the struggle between good and evil in just three days, even though sick and bedridden at the time.
