Résumé :
Ex-amateur boxer and unsuccessful advertising executive Jack Doyle returns to thoroughbred horse racing. He is hired as publicity director at Monee Park-a struggling racetrack owned by heiress Celia McCann.
Celia is fighting to keep the business afloat while awaiting passage of a law allowing video slot machines. She is determined to maintain the business inherited from her beloved uncle Jim Joyce, but her cousin and co-heir, Niall, wants her to close the track and sell the valuable property. And he's hired someone to help make his point.
Can Jack help save the track?
John McEvoy, winner of the 2007 Benjamin Franklin Award, is the author of two earlier horseracing mysteries: Blind Switch and Riders Down. McEvoy and his wife Judy live in Evanston, IL.
