Résumé :
In his second full-length collection, NYQ poet Christopher Goodrich explores the intricacies and intimacies of sex, marriage, and fatherhood. At times, funny and endearing, dark and devastating, his goal is always to develop a clear understanding of what it means to be a complicated human being. Such complication and vulnerability is essential to the making of these poems, which will haunt the reader with their seeming simplicity. Read them once for their gentle humor and accessibility, read them twice to discover a depth that may have you reeling.
Biographie:
Christopher Goodrich teaches in Montgomery County, MD. He has also taught at New York University and Frostburg State University. His poems have appeared in Margie, Hotel Amerika, Rattle, The New York Quarterly, Sycamore Review, Cimarron Review, Cider Press Review and The Worcester Review, among others. He has been featured on Verse Daily and NPR. He is the recipient of two Dorothy Sargent Rosenberg Poetry Prizes, an Emerging Writer Fellowship from The Writer's Center and holds an MFA from New England College. A chapbook, By Reaching, was published in 2007. His first book, Nevertheless, Hello (Steel Toe Books), was published in 2009. In addition to writing, he is also the Co-Producing Artistic Director of Unexpected Stage Company with his wife, Rachel. He is grateful to his wonderful family, including Rachel, their 3 girls, and, sometimes, his dog.
