    • Résumé :
Robert Frost's A Boy's Will introduces the voice of one of the defining American poets: solitary, observant, rural, philosophical, and quietly exacting. In these early poems, Frost turns to woods, fields, weather, labour, loneliness, desire, and the difficult relation between self and society. The language is often plain, but the emotional movement is subtle: withdrawal and return, confidence and uncertainty, youthful independence and the need for human connection. The collection includes poems such as Into My Own, Ghost House, My November Guest, Storm Fear, Mowing, and Reluctance, showing Frost already working with the landscapes, cadences, and moral tensions that would shape his later reputation. Nature in these poems is never merely decorative. It is a testing ground for thought, feeling, solitude, and choice, rendered with the disciplined music and compressed force that made Frost both widely read and seriously studied. This Wilder Publications edition presents Frost's first book as a key work of American poetry and early twentieth-century literature. For readers interested in classic poetry, New England writing, nature poetry, rural life, literary modernism, and the development of Robert Frost's poetic career, A Boy's Will offers the beginning of a body of work that became central to American letters....

Robert Frost (1874-1963) was an American poet whose work became central to twentieth-century American literature. Though often associated with New England farms, woods, stone walls, roads, snow, and rural speech, Frost's poetry is more complex than its familiar surfaces may suggest. His poems frequently turn on choice, isolation, labour, mortality, irony, and the uneasy relation between human order and the natural world. His ability to combine plain diction with philosophical ambiguity made him one of the rare poets to be both widely popular and continuously studied.Frost's major books include A Boy's Will, North of Boston, Mountain Interval, New Hampshire, West-Running Brook, and A Further Range. He received four Pulitzer Prizes for Poetry and became one of the most recognisable literary figures in American culture. Poems such as Mending Wall, The Road Not Taken, Birches, Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening, and Nothing Gold Can Stay helped secure his reputation, but his first collection, A Boy's Will, remains important for showing the emergence of his characteristic voice: meditative, exact, musical, rural, and morally searching....

      Sommaire:
s Will is the poetry collection that put the world on notice that Robert Frost was going to be an important Poet. His early poems were already exploring the themes and subject matter that would make him America&rsquo...
