Clusterbean [Cyamopsis tetragonoloba (L.)Taub]is an under exploited leguminous vegetable belonging to family Fabaceae. The principle objective of the present investigation was to study and highlight genetic variability and diversity present in the clusterbean germplasm collection (31) at olericulture unit, Main Agricultural Research station, University of Agricultural Sciences, Dharwad, during 2009. Broad genetic base was evident as the value of GCV and PCV was high for plant height, clusters per plant, pods per cluster and yield per hectare. High heritability coupled with genetic advance over mean was observed for plant height, number of branches, pods per plant, yield per plant and yield per hectare which indicated predominance of additive gene actions for these traits. Correlation studies revealed significant and positive association of vegetable pod yield per hectare with plant height, pods per plant and pod yield per plant. Path analysis pod yield per hectare revealed that pods per cluster, number of seeds per pod and yield per plant are being chief contributing characters at genotypic level.In D2 analysis, yield per hectare contributed maximum towards genetic divergence....
