A mother chicken is determined to build her nest of straw in a pail at the zoo. Her chicks can safely play and be happy with the other animals there. First, she has to stand up for herself, explain the importance of eggs, and convince the zookeeper to let her stay. But, what happens when the zoo is sold and Zachery goes to his family home on the farm?

Biographie:
Cynthia Noles has been writing stories and rhymes since she was in the first grade and has continued writing rhyming stories her whole life. She does it for the fun and love of writing and for the pleasure it gives others. When her neighbor, author and illustrator John Hume read some of her stories, he knew she had to bring them to a wider audience.
