Présentation Industrial Revolution de Poul Anderson Format Relié
- Livre Littérature Générale
Résumé :
A sharp and imaginative work of science fiction exploring technological change, societal disruption, and the unintended consequences of progress. In Industrial Revolution, Poul Anderson brings his characteristic clarity and speculative rigor to a narrative shaped by innovation and its ripple effects across human systems, examining how shifts in production, knowledge, and power redefine the structure of civilization. Rather than presenting history, Anderson constructs a speculative framework in which industrial transformation becomes a lens for considering broader questions of human adaptation, economic evolution, and the tension between stability and advancement. His storytelling combines intellectual precision with narrative drive, offering both an engaging tale and a thoughtful exploration of technological society. Written during the golden age of science fiction, the work reflects Anderson's enduring interest in the intersection of science, culture, and human behavior, and stands as a concise example of his ability to render complex ideas through accessible and compelling fiction. This edition presents the complete text in a clear and readable format for modern audiences. Explore other exciting Positronic Books devoted to classic science fiction, fantasy, and mystery....

Sommaire:
Poul Anderson (1926-2001) was an American science fiction and fantasy writer, editor, poet, and one of the most respected figures in twentieth-century speculative fiction. Born in Pennsylvania to Scandinavian parents and raised partly in Texas and Minnesota, Anderson studied physics at the University of Minnesota, a background that helped give much of his science fiction its technical confidence, scientific range, and interest in plausible worlds. He began publishing in the 1940s and became a major presence in magazines, anthologies, and book-length science fiction for more than half a century.Anderson's fiction is known for its breadth. He wrote hard science fiction, space opera, planetary adventure, future history, time travel stories, alternate history, fantasy, heroic fantasy, and works shaped by myth, linguistics, politics, and historical change. His major series and books include the Technic History stories, the Polesotechnic League, the Time Patrol stories, Tau Zero, The High Crusade, Three Hearts and Three Lions, The Broken Sword, and many shorter works that appeared in leading magazines of the field. He combined adventure with intellectual seriousness, often exploring freedom, empire, entropy, cultural survival, and the long consequences of human choices.Anderson received many of science fiction and fantasy's highest honors, including multiple Hugo Awards, Nebula Awards, and recognition as a Grand Master by the Science Fiction Writers of America. He was also inducted into the Science Fiction and Fantasy Hall of Fame. His influence reaches across hard science fiction, libertarian SF, heroic fantasy, future history, and the magazine tradition that shaped modern speculative fiction. Today he remains essential reading for anyone interested in the development of classic science fiction and fantasy....
