It is not that children suddenly develop all these traits in a day. It is a process of learning things that gradually thrives on what is available for them to learn from the people around.

In addition to schooling, children should be made aware of qualities such as self-restraint, service-feeling, duty-consciousness, labour, sacrifice, goodwill, dedication etc. Undoubtedly the best school for learning these qualities is their own family.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:

N.K. Sondhi worked as a manager with Punjab National Bank for thirty years. His first book was Management of Banking which draws upon his experience as a Bank Manager. He then turned to fiction writing, bringing forth seen and unseen aftermaths of the partition of India in 1947 in his novel A Cart Full of Husk that was published in the USA. He followed it up with a short non-fiction book, The Forgotten City of Delhi. He wrote his next book, A Match Made in Heaven; A 2000-year-old love story, based on the actual life of an Indian princes Suri Ratna, who became the first queen of Korea in 48 AD and founded the Korean Kingdom.

Working with young people, as he pursued social activities after his retirement, he sensed the restlessness among youngsters, facing a large number of problems due to stiff neck-to-neck competition in every walk of life. This led him to write a book Know Your Worth with the young and enterprising writer Ms. Vibha Malhotra. On public demand, a Hindi version of this book was also published under the title of Apni Chhamta Pehchaniye.

The Advanced Technology and the Modern Lifestyle of parents have not spared even small kids. Following the footsteps of their parents, children have become high-tech children. They are busy with new gadgets then caring for their Education, Health and Physical fitness. This book provides some important measures for parents to save the childhood of their kids before they are lost in the wild and hostile environment of the Modernity. The book is also available in Hindi as Mat Chheno Bachpan.

Vibha Malhotra: Vibha Malhotra is the founder of 'Literature Studio' and editor-in-chief of the literary e-journal 'Literature Studio Review'. In the past, she has worked as an editor with Dorling Kindersley (Penguin Random House) where she has edited beautiful coffee table books on subjects such as history, nature, fitness, lifestyle, and travel. She is also a poet and a translator. Her work has been published in literary journals across the world such as Wasafiri, Muse India, Tipton Poetry Journal, The Luxembourg Review, Red Fez, and in dailies such as The Times of India and Ceylon Today. 'Know Your Worth' is her first work as an author. Vibha holds a Master of Arts in Creative Writing from Newcastle University, UK. She teaches creative writing to all age groups.
