Résumé : Meagan is a seventeen-year-old netaholic, addicted to online dating but scared to death to take those online relationships offline. Banished by her parents to her gay hippie grandfather's farm (where the cell reception is terrible!), she is so not looking forward to a techno-free summer of gardening and cleaning house. When two offline boys fall for her at a Netaholics Anonymous meeting, she desperately enlists her bestie Sheila to help extradite herself from such an awkward situation. Good luck with that! Falling in with a ragtag bunch of Luddites, Meagan joins a zany softball team, takes the game of Scrabble to a whole new level, and gets immersed in the world of invertebrate sex--all the while coming to terms with her raging netaholism and discovering the joys and heartbreaks of offline relationships.
Biographie: Brian Adams' most recent book, the YA rom-com environmental activist novel KABOOM!, won gold medals at the 2017 Next Generation Indie Book Awards and the Literary Classics Book Awards. He is also author of the adult cli-fi/rom com novel, Love in the Time of Climate Change, a Forward Reviews 2014 IndieFAB Gold Winner for Humor. He is a Professor Emeritus of Environmental Science at Greenfield Community College and lives with his wonderful wife and cat in Northampton, Massachusetts.
Sommaire: A hilarious and heartfelt story about finding real connection in a digital world. Meagan, a seventeen-year-old netaholic, is banished to her grandfathers' farm for a techno-free summer. Addicted to online dating but terrified of offline relationships, she faces a summer of gardening and self-discovery. When two boys from Netaholics Anonymous vie for her attention, Meagan enlists her best friend Sheila to navigate the awkward situation. As Meagan juggles small-town life, Luddite philosophies, and the challenges of intergenerational relationships, she must confront her technology addiction and learn to balance her online and offline worlds. Will she find real connection, or will her fear of the real world keep her Offline?
