      Biographie:
I was born in Newport New, Virginia, in 1945, the youngest of ten children. At a very early age the entire family moved to Rich Square, a small town in North Carolina. Life wasn?t all peaches and cream during that time, farming was pretty much the only way of life. Even though too young to work, spending the entire day in the fields was common for all kids in the area. As a teenager, I worked in the fields picking cotton at two cents a pound which was top price in the 1950?s. After graduating from W.S. Creecy High School, I then went back to Newport News, Virginia, where I learned the trade of brick laying. In 1965 I was inducted into the U.S. Army where I served two years, one of which was in the Vietnam War. During that time is when a great deal of my writing took place. I have two children of my own and have always been fascinated with the learning of young children. I feel that I have a lot to share with the young and enjoy doing so.
