Résumé :
for SATB double choir unaccompaniedLightly come or lightly go is a playful setting of James Joyce's poem of the same name for SATB double choir. The two choirs portray the conflicting emotions expressed in the poem demonstrated by the closing line: Love and laughter song-confessed When the heart is heaviest.
Biographie:
Philip Lawson was a baritone with The King's Singers for 18 years (1993-2012), and for most of that time was also the group's principal arranger. Prior to this he was Director of Music at a school in Salisbury and a Lay Clerk in the Cathedral choir, previously having been a freelance singer with the major London choirs. Philip now divides his time between arranging, composing, conducting, and leading choral workshops, mainly in Europe and the USA.
