Introduction to American Government encourages students to think critically about current issues in politics and policy and to question how and why America has achieved its current position politically. Introduction to American Government provides foundational information in a student-friendly style for introductory courses in civics and American government. Laura Schneider holds a Ph.D. in political science from Purdue University and is an associate professor in the Department of Political Science at Grand Valley State University. Dr. Schneider teaches courses in introductory American government, environmental policy, the policy process, and women and politics. In addition to teaching, Dr. Schneider is a member of the Environmental Studies Interdisciplinary Advisory Board.
