Résumé :
Cash has been abolished in a strategic move to force the population to be 'marked' with identifying barcodes. When a friend uses just his hand for payment, Emily explains that he now has the mark of the devil. Elisha Dullard is warned of the coming cataclysm in the Book of Revelation, but doesn't believe it until she discovers Emily's dead body. Elisha meets Michael, the man of her dreams. Everyone around them take the mark and treat those without as third class citizens. Her friend's predictions become reality, and the mistreatment of the unmarked deepens when two scientists without it accidentally unleash a virus that eradicates the animal population. Elisha may find true love, but she also learns the terrifying capacity for human persecution. Waking from a two- year coma after a car accident, she is exhilarated by the fact she had just imagined the whole scenario - until she finds out that it really wasn't just a dream. It was a warning about the unstoppable future.
