Allen Winor is sure of nothing. He sleeps on the street and constantly mulls a reality where he feels in control. He finds himself in a place that is overly structured and often times outright robotic. But in the middle of it all lies the one person he's only ever dreamed of meeting. Julie Winor is sure of everything. She is the Director of Academy at the Academy of Celestial Training after all. The academy is tasked with exploring the universe and keeping young societies from going extinct. They are barred from procreation or any behavior that morphs them into a normal society. If a young society nears extinction, before or after the academy attempts to help, individuals from that society are brought to the academy and trained to help others. This is how the academy's population is maintained. But Julie has a secret. In her younger years, and while on a mission to a young society, Earth, she created a child that she was forced to leave behind. Though she constantly pushes guilt to the back of her mind, it rises to the surface when she is mysteriously poisoned and fears she will die. Sidestepping the rules of the academy, she sends an officer to retrieve her son, Allen. However, after bringing Allen to the academy, she discovers she has placed him in grave danger.
