Présentation La Ninera Format Broché

Résumé :
If being in the minority in a particular demographic isn't demanding enough, Yamila discovers a family secret that threatens to derail the success she has encountered thus far at her competitive high school, even given the economic challenges confronted by her and her family. Experience the trials that Yamila faces in contrast to the seemingly carefree life of her best friend, Ashley, as the two characters illustrate their differences all while maintaining their relationship. La ni?era is a common story, but one rarely told in accessible Spanish. In this reader, students of Spanish have access to rich vocabulary, a review of the present tense and an introduction to the past tenses in context through a story whose cultural content also presents topics worthy of discussion.Teachers: depending on your students this can be a level 1 or a level 2 book....
Biographie:
Jennifer Degenhardt has taught middle and high school Spanish for over 24 years. She recently decided to combine her language skills with those of storytelling, specifically involving kids and culture. Her books highlight cultural, social, economic and political themes necessary for continued conversation, both in the classroom and outside. She hopes her stories will provide a platform for discussion, as anything can be solved - to some degree - with a conversation. She is the author of the following: La chica nueva, La ni?era, El viaje dif?cil, Los tres amigos, Three Friends (for ELLs), La chica nueva Ancillary/Workbook and The New Girl (for ELLs), and La lucha de la vida, Maria Maria: un cuento de un hurac?n, and Mar?a Mar?a: A Story of a Storm, the English version of this title, and her latest, Debido a la tormenta.
