Maria de Andrade est n?e ? Lisbonne, Portugal. Elle, son mari et leur jeune fils sont arriv?s ? Montr?al, Canada, en 1979. Trente-cinq ans plus tard, le couple d?m?nage ? Laval, au nord de Montr?al, pour se rapprocher de leur famille. L'auteure a d?j? publi? six livres en anglais, sa troisi?me langue : Memories of Lili, A Beagle's Life (2014), The Little Sect (2015), Cycles (2016), A Patch of Black Ice (2017), Looking for Daisy (2018) et While on a Cruise (2019). Son chien Miko (de Memories of Lili) est d?c?d? en 2022 juste avant son quinzi?me anniversaire. Maria, qui se pr?parait d?j? ? ?crire La femme qui ne pouvait pas parler, l'a r?incarn? en Bobi, un personnage canin dans ce nouveau romain publi? apr?s.
