Facebook users may attain a list of hundreds if not thousands of friends and acquaintances on their profiles, however they cannot recall even few numbers of people that they know. the social website Facebook has reduced the margin of human face-to face contact, and the daily interactions-in real life- is reduced comparing to the past old days. On the other side social networks are beginning to shed light on social organizations and civic engagement in communities' development. Yet, in the shadow of globalization, the social network Facebook is becoming a small village where data and information are no longer hidden, and where everybody knows everything about everybody. This invasion of privacy may have a negative impact on people's relationships in the future, and may threaten their personal lives. Nevertheless, right now, it is classified as a necessary aspect of that social website. So can people live and communicate without facebook?...
Biographie:
MERYEM LAADEM is Assistant Professor of English in the Higher School of Technology (ESTM) at Moulay Ismail University, Meknes. Her fields of interest are sociolinguistics, teaching methods, media and mobile learning, cultural studies, and communication. She has published many research articles and presented in national & international conferences....
