The book was written to raise funds for the author's two-year-old niece, who was born with a rare and lifelong blood disease. Proceeds of this book will benefit Daniela's Dream for a Cure nonprofit organization. Dillon has created a reference page for parents at the end of the story that specifically addresses Daniela's disease and nonprofit organization in greater detail so they can choose how much to share with their child based on age and interest.

Biographie:
Angela Dillon holds a B.A. degree from the University of Connecticut, where she majored in journalism. It has always been her dream to become an independent children's writer, and she is thrilled to release her first book, Dance, Dani, Dance! Inspired by the courage of her two-year-old niece who was diagnosed with a rare and lifelong blood disorder, Dillon wrote the book to inspire other children to be courageous and always have hope. Dance, Dani, Dance! is the first of two books Dillon has written to date. She looks forward to publishing her second book, The House with the Pond, in 2015--a heartwarming and bittersweet tale of a little boy's adventures growing up at a house with a pond and a mother who watches him grow all too quickly. Dillon is a native of Connecticut, where she lives with her husband and son.
