Résumé :
This classic 1970s science fiction newspaper comic strip predates Star Wars--and nearly 40 years after its debut, remains fresh and exciting for new generations of sci-fi and fantasy fans.
This third volume concludes the series, collecting more than 500 strips drawn by Gil Kane, written by Archie Goodwin, and set in the Barnum System that series creator Ron Goulart also used in several of his novels. The Library of American Comics edition reproduces the daily strips two per page and each Sunday strip on its own page so readers can relish Gil Kane's incredible achievement. Included are all strips from June 11, 1979 to May 2, 1981.
Biographie:
Archie Goodwin was born in Kansas City, Missouri, in 1937. In 1964, he went to work for Warren Publishing, where he became the head scriptwriter and eventually rose to the position of Editor-in-Chief. From the late 1960s until the late 1980s Goodwin moved back and forth between Marvel, DC Comics, and Warren, with occasional sojourns elsewhere. He helmed the launch of Epic Illustrated and was the Editor-in-Chief at Marvel from 1976 until 1978. He was inducted into the Eisner Hall of Fame in 1998.
Gil Kane (1926-2000) is considered of the best comic book artists of the Silver Age and beyond, having won four awards from the National Cartoonists Society--including Best Story Strip for Star Hawks. During his long career, he is best known for his work on Green Lantern and The Atom for DC Comics, and then a long stint at Marvel, drawing the Amazing Spider-Man and hundreds of covers in the 1970s.
